Separo E300 single ended triode Valve Amplifier............£795
We now have these amplifiers in stock.
Characteristics of the Separo E300i triode valve amplifier
This is a exceptional class A SET valve amplifier and is at the very top of the entire range of amplifiers Separo make.
The design is a traditional Class A Single Ended Triode Amplifier using the famous 300B vacuum tubes.
Weighing in at 25kgs, it has two specially wound extremely large output transformers and one power transformer.
The 300B is arguably the one of the most rich and natural sounding vacuum tubes ever made.
By coupling the 300B vacuum tube with a single ended triode full class A amplifier design, Separo's goal was to produce the best sounding amplifier possible.
The 300B has a softer bass and perhaps lacks a little low down punch but is renowned for producing the sweetest and richest sounding treble and mid tones of any vacuum tubes.
Like all single ended triode amplifiers the main focus is on quality of sound rather than power. The E300i is built for the listener who is craving detail and maximum quality rather than power and punch. For this reason we would advise single ended triode amplifiers should be coupled with efficient speakers.
The e300i is 100% hand made, without any printed circuit boards, 100% point to point soldering.
Top grade aluminium alloy panels.
300b vacuum tubes for power amplification stage.
2 x 6P6P and 2 x 6DJ8 for pre-amplification stage.
2 x 274B tube rectifiers

Comments on the Separo E300i valve amplifier by Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News
"It would be easy to mistake this for a single ended triode amplifier costing ten times as much - the form it takes is classic
It sports a layout that usually screams to me "telephone-number-priced-single-ended-triode", but this is the opposite: a flipping bargain, yet it has a 300B at its heart and no scrimping on the other tubes. Economies have been made - there are, for example, only two sets of inputs, and one of those is side mounted - but as Paul Miller suggested, "It's a lot of amp for the money." I second that.
The fit and finish are so far removed from the Chinese amps of yore that it could almost be Japanese..."
"It has charms especially for it's 300B-ness and for fit and finish so far beyond its £895 price sticker that I thought a "1" was missing between the "£" and "8"
If you bought into the triode ethos, and lie awake at night because you will never own an Ongaku, the Separo will let you wallow in 300B liquidity for one percent (!) of the cost of certain single-ended triode amps."
"... it's an absolute, undeniable bargain"
