Valve Amplifier Placement and ventilation guidlines

Valve amplifiers get hot and so the need plenty of ventilation. The top and sides of the amplifier will become hot to touch once the amplifier is in use.

Allow at least 30cm of empty space above the amplifier.
Allow at least 15cm of empty space around the sides, front and back of amplifier.

Do not place the amplifier near a fire or hot surfaces.

The valve amplifier is a high precision and delicate piece of electronic equipment. Place the amplifier on a stable, horizontal surface in a position where it is unlikely to be knocked or have things placed on it.

Separo valve amplifiers are attractive devices, even more so when it is on and the valves are glowing, the amplifier is especially attractive to children. Ensure you place the amplifier well out of reach of children. Our P88i, E34i and SE88i amplifiers are all supplied with a safety cage, we recommend using this.
